Description

BeBot is a zero-emission, solar-and-battery-powered beach cleaning robot manufactured by Poralu Marine and commercialized by 4Ocean. It mechanically sifts beach sand to remove plastic fragments, cigarette butts, food wrappers, bottle caps, and other debris without disturbing coastal ecosystems or wildlife.

Traditional beach cleaning equipment — large tractors and manual rakes — is noisy, burns fuel, triggers erosion, and typically leaves behind plastic fragments smaller than a few centimeters. BeBot addresses these limitations by targeting debris as small as 1 cm² at depths up to 10 cm while operating quietly and without fuel emissions.

Key capabilities:

  • Covers up to 3,000 m² of beach per hour (approximately 7 basketball courts)
  • Collects plastic debris down to 1 cm² from depths up to 10 cm
  • 100% electric; solar-and-battery powered — no fuel, no liquid emissions
  • Remote-controlled from up to 300 m by a single operator
  • Turn-on-the-spot track system enables use in narrow or irregular beach areas
  • Secondary uses: algae raking, load carrying, sand leveling

BeBot is designed for municipalities, hotels, coastal nature reserves, and sports facilities. It is a plastic pollution remediation tool rather than a monitoring or analytical instrument. For passive marine debris collection in harbor environments, see the Seabin V5. For river plastic interception before it reaches the coast, see The Great Bubble Barrier.
