Priority Scoring Analysis for marine species and plastic contamination

Description

An approach for an “Priority Scoring Analysis” was developped by Jones et al., (2021), [see link to open access paper and methods desciption below] to assess the risk of marine species to being impaired by plastic pollution.

“Scoring elements include species distribution, IUCN Red List status and evidence from the literature for harm from plastic contamination caused by entanglement and ingestion at a taxonomic family level. Each element was scored (03) and combined to give a final priority
score, shown distributed across species within each group in the
final column.” (Jones et al., 2021)
