About MP Visual Analysis Tool

MP-VAT automates microplastic quantification in laboratory samples. The tool uses ImageJ scripts to analyze fluorescent-stained filter images. Researchers developed MP-VAT to replace manual counting methods with objective, reproducible analysis.

The tool identifies and classifies microplastics by size and morphology. It detects fiber, fragment, and particle categories automatically. MP-VAT achieves 89.0–111.1% recovery rates on spiked samples, demonstrating reliable performance.
